I agree with you that expectant moms who want to keep their children and need support are grossly undersupported here in the US. But lack of support is not the reason for every adoption placement. Both my own birth mom and my son’s birth mom chose to place their children for adoption and had support. Some women know they don’t want to parent and that’s okay, too. Adoption is common around the world, though some cultures see more kinship care than legal adoption.
